THANK-U-MEAL

About

In most parts of the world, the Covid-19 pandemic has triggered brutal recessions denying millions of people access to food. Hunger is spreading and malnutrition increasing. The year 2020 and 2021 have not been easy on so many people globally and the number of people going without two or even one meal a day has only increased as income streams have reduced.

Out of the eight billion people on the planet, a striking one billion are living in extreme poverty. Or one in 10 persons suffers from hunger.

How we can help the situation?

The solution is to get food to people in need when they need it. This is the way we can restore faith in humanity. Join our movement. Please spread the word.

Each year, 3.1 million children die from hunger-related causes, which include diarrhoea and malnutrition. Every 10 seconds a child dies from hunger.

Humans may never be able to fully solve world hunger.

“Thank-U-Meal”, is an initiative inspired by the prestigious movement in Turkey called “Askıda ekmek”, which means “bread on a hanger” or “suspended bread. It involves paying for two breads and taking one while the other is hung for someone else later. It was started with the intention of reducing hunger amongst the neediest.

Help the people

Let’s help reduce hunger

Currently, the few of us who have started this movement feel compelled to address the issue of hunger.

Together, let’s do everything we possibly can to stop world hunger! There should be more people around the world to help us reach the goal.

We at Thank-U-Meal want to ensure that the less fortunate get food to survive. No one should be turned away from having a meal. “Thank-U-Meal” is an effective way to help vulnerable people who are constantly struggling to find their next meal.

But at “Thank-U-Meal” we believe when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Tradition has always been that when carrying out zakat obligations, the poor should not be embarrassed by having their identities revealed to the donors and vice versa. Respect the dignity of the needy.
